Logistic Contractor has signed an agreement to develop and build a temperature controlled logistics facility in Helsingborg for Seafrigo Nordic, a subsidiary of the Seafrigo Group, an international logistics company specializing in the transport and handling of temperature-controlled food stuff. The building will have an area of 13 000 m² which is temperature and humidity controlled in three zones for frozen, refrigerated, and controlled ambient. Production will begin immediately, and in January 2018, the facility will be ready for occupancy. Seafrigo Nordic has signed a fifteen-year lease for the premises with Logistic Contractor.
– We have had a very good cooperation with Seafrigo Nordic during the development phase and are now looking forward to start building. They have had big demands on the facility, both from a logistics process, quality and sustainability perspective. We have together developed an energy efficient facility that meets their high level of ambition, says Christoffer Bööj LC.
The cold store is being built in Helsingborg, directly adjacent to the E4 / E6 highways.
– The location is optimal for our operations, it is close to the major highways, the port of Helsingborg and the Öresund bridge to Denmark, as well as the ferry harbors in the south. This is our first cold store in the Nordic region and it will probably be the most modern temperate controlled 3PL facility on the market, which puts us in a position to handle the most demanding accounts. The facility is designed to give us a large degree of flexibility so that we can meet the diverse needs of our customers. For example, it has a 2000 m² refrigerated mezzanine floor, which we consider to be ideal for e-commerce, a segment within food distribution that we only have seen the beginning of, explains Peter Jönsson, Managing Director Seafrigo Nordic.
